With the World Baseball Classic (hail Japan!) delaying the start of the MLB season, and with professional sports' uncanny ability to stretch out the high revenue post seasons, we are going to be watching baseball into November. Even if it's a 4 game sweep (though not likely considering the parity of these two teams), the Series will still end November 1st. I can't remember the baseball season ever going this late into the year. The NBA season has even started already, so for a few days, anyway, we have MLB, NBA, NFL, and NCAA football. Pretty darn cool. I'll even throw the NHL in there, though I'm not a big hockey guy.
So what does all this mean? No clue. But I do know that I would love to see my dad involved in sports again somehow. Maybe as a high school pitching coach. Maybe his old buddy Vance Law can find a place for him in BYU baseball. Or maybe not. Maybe it's just a fantasy of mine for him and nothing will come of it. Either way, the World Series should be fun to watch!
